(Sharecast News) - Zinc Media Group said on Tuesday that it has secured a recommission from the BBC for a second series of The Celebrity Inner Circle, extending the run of the quiz format following a strong debut.
The AIM-traded firm said the new series would comprise eight 45-minute episodes, up from six in the first season, and would air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
It said the programme, hosted by Amanda Holden, combines celebrity contestants with members of the public in a quiz-based format.
The show was produced by Tern, Zinc's Scotland-based production label, with the group retaining rights to both the programme and its underlying format.
International distribution would be handled by BBC Studios, providing potential for additional revenue through global sales.
Zinc said the recommission supported its strategy to expand its entertainment output alongside factual and branded content, while strengthening its portfolio of returning intellectual property and improving revenue visibility.
"This recommission demonstrates our ability to originate and scale returning entertainment formats, supporting our strategy of building a portfolio of high-quality, repeatable IP," said chief executive Mark Browning.
"Alongside UK commissions, the involvement of BBC Studios as global distributor provides a clear pathway to international IP revenues, reinforcing the long-term value potential of our content and the increasing visibility of earnings across the group."
At 1541 BST, shares in Zinc Media Group were up 2.44% at 42p.
